How to Get It: Customer service is the biggest work-at-home field, with companies including Spiegel, Hilton, Best Western, HSN, 1-800-FLOWERS and many others using at-home reps. Fill out an application with staffing companies such as Arise, Alpine Access, VIPdesk, LiveOps, and Convergys, all of which vet the companies who are hiring through them. If you need benefits, search through a staffing company that will hire you as an employee (Alpine Access, VIPdesk and Convergys do this) rather than an independent contractor. If you're a contractor, you may be asked to pay a small fee (between $15 and $35) for a background check. While a fee can be a sign of a scam, independent contractors are responsible for their own expenses.
Online tutoring is another part-time job you can do completely by working from home. Online tutoring is a new way for a student to receive help, either scheduled or on-demand. Sessions are done online through Skype video or application where a student and tutor can connect face-to-face. Here are some companies that offer part-time work at home jobs in the educational field:

Adaptive structuration theory studies variations in organizations as new technologies are introduced[54] Adaptive structural theory proposes that structures (general rules and resources offered by the technology) can differ from structuration (how people actually use these rules and resources).[44] There is an interplay between the intended use of technology and the way that people use the technology. Telecommuting provides a social structure that enables and constrains certain interactions.[55] For instance, in office settings, the norm may be to interact with others face-to-face. To accomplish interpersonal exchange in telecommuting, other forms of interaction need to be used. AST suggests that when technologies are used over time, the rules and resources for social interactions will change.[54] Teleworking may alter traditional work practices,[44] such as switching from primarily face-to-face communication to electronic communication.

The position advertised on Remote.co is for a data scientist with 10 to 15 years of experience, but even if you’re newer to the game, you can probably find a position that will allow you some flexibility in terms of telecommuting. Take a look at any major jobs site, and you’ll find listings for data scientist roles that allow employees to work from home.

Even better, the national median wage for web developers was $66,130 in 2016, with the top 10% earning an average of $119,550. And you typically don’t need an advanced degree to begin working in this field. All you need is some postsecondary education, applicable experience, and a portfolio of successful sites you’ve built and managed. There are even intensive coding boot camps designed to teach programming skills in just a few short months.
How to Get It: Check out K12 (K12.com) and Connections Academy (ConnectionsAcademy.com). Both organizations offer various benefits — including health insurance, retirement savings accounts and paid time off — depending on where you live. As in any job where you work with kids, there will be a background and reference check as well as interviews. You may also need to be licensed to teach in the state where the students reside.
Even though these online jobs are ideal for people with no prior experience. It is always great to have side earners for a little spare change. I highly recommend signing up for Slice the Pie where I earn around $100 – $175 per month writing short music reviews, rating fashions, testing cell phone apps, and more. You can also earn a little extra by scanning your grocery receipts with Ibotta.  I just recently cashed out $258.07 sent within minutes to my Paypal account.
Liveops is a cloud-based contact center and customer service-focused company. The 2012 Status Telework in the Federal Government features teleworking highlights from the past 18 months as well as goals for improving teleworking in the future. Reports finding that all 87 agencies participating in the Data Cell had established telework policies and 73 percent of the policies met the Telework Act Requirements. More than 684,000 federal employees were deemed eligible to telework, this represents approximately 32 percent of all federal employees. More than 144,000 federal employees had written teleworking agreements with their agencies. 27 percent of teleworkers worked remotely three or more days per week.[111] In addition to the findings, the reports examine teleworking at the Department of Defense. According to the report, there are more than 793,000 employees in the DoD and of those employees, 134,477 were deemed eligible for teleworking. Overall, the federal government seems to have embraced teleworking and is attempting to create more remote working opportunities for employees. In closing, the report listed several ways that the government could make more jobs available through telework. Suggestions include using telework as a tool to retain employees at or near retirement age and using telework to expand hiring of highly trained disabled veterans.[111]
But what does better mean for you? It’s different for each of us, but also often similar. Maybe it’s about work-life fit or having more time for our families, paying our bills with less stress or being able to find a good job without having to move, getting rid of a long commute or having more freedom in where and when you work. We could go on, but you probably get the idea.
Because of the booming popularity of audio and video, transcriptionists are finding work through a variety of different means. Many companies hire transcriptionists to turn their audio or video recordings into marketing or training materials. Video marketers (think YouTubers) may also hire transcriptionists to transcribe their recordings into written form so they can sell their services and products online. Law firms and government agencies also hire qualified legal transcriptionists to work for them.

A word of caution: Remember that where very little is required, very little is offered. These jobs don’t pay much, and they are not going to provide a reference for your resume. It may take working at several different of these online jobs to pull in the income you want. And as always, know the signs of a work-at-home scam as you sort through the opportunities.
While this is extremely low-paying writing work (starting at 3.2 cents per word), you have the flexibility to do as few as ten product descriptions per week, so this qualifies as one of these part time jobs from home. The product descriptions are only 50 to 60 words in length, so doing these quickly is a possibility. Crowd Content pays every other Friday provided you've earned at least $10 for the pay period. No prior professional writing experience is necessary, but they do want writers who have a good understanding of AP Style.
Proofreading is another great part-time opportunity. With the amount of online content out there, good proofreaders are in high demand. Proofreading differs from editing, in that proofreaders are simply checking for errors and editors are examining content and structure as well. If you have a good eye for mistakes and grammatical errors, you can earn good money from home proofreading.
Note:  Nearly all of these programs require an upfront investment for purchasing your initial inventory. They’re not our first choice when it comes to work from home jobs for this reason alone. We don’t like seeing users getting stuck with thousands of dollars in inventory only to realize they’re trying to offload their LuLaRoe into already saturated markets.
